Consequences of failing to provide personal data

If you do not provide the required personal data, it may delay or prevent the grant funding under Homes for Ukraine Scheme from being provided.

Data Controller and Processors

The Data Controller is Worcester City Council, Worcestershire County Council, the Ministry of Housing and Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and the Home Office.

Our lawful basis for using your personal data is:

  • Article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR – processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority.

Who we share the information with

We may share your data with external parties who are working to deliver the Homes for Ukraine visa sponsorship scheme, for the purpose of matching potential sponsors with visa applicants, applicants with suitable accommodation and undertaking welfare and housing checks as well as grant aid and any other support. This currently includes:

  • Worcestershire County Council (via the Dashboard System, the Foundry System and directly with officers as required)
  • MHCLG & the Home Office (both via the Foundry System for the case management of guests, hosts and grant payments)
  • Other Local Authorities if the guest moves from or to another authority.

Please note that where we may share your data externally, that organisation will take on responsibility for your data at that point, and you should refer to their own privacy notice for details on how they will process your data

How long we hold your information

As instructed by the MHCLG, we shall delete relevant personal data within 2 years of the closure of the scheme unless MHCLG and the Home Office identifies that its continued retention is unnecessary before that point.

In accordance with government guidance, we shall delete information revealed by a DBS Check six months after the return of the check.
