Worcester City Council is holding a free drop-in session for residents to find out more about the installation of the Battenhall Park pump track.

You can attend the in-formal event anytime on Thursday 27 June between 6pm and 8pm at St Peter’s Baptist Church in Eden Close.

City Council officers will be there to answer any questions about the scheme.

Worcester City Council’s Corporate Director for Operations, Homes & Communities, Lloyd Griffiths said: “The new pump track will provide a brilliant facility for children to practice their skills and socialise with friends.

“Similar facilities in other parts of Worcestershire have been a success and we are looking forward to installing this inclusive provision.

“We have listened to residents during the consultation process and have been working to alleviate their concerns.”

The pump track will be designed for users of all ages and skill levels. It will be suitable for bikes, scooters, skateboards, roller blades, and adaptive bikes or wheelchairs.

The track will aid the development of cycle skills and rider confidence, in a safe and controlled environment.

The Council’s Place & Economic Development Committee gave the go-ahead for the project in January this year.

In preparation for the pump track installation, the Council has recently carried out botanical and geophysical surveys, along with flood risk and noise assessments.
