Have your say on licensing reviews

Published: 19 December 2023

Worcester City Council is reviewing its Statement of Licensing Policy and its licensing policy on sex establishments and is inviting members of the public to have their say on the changes.

The Licensing Act 2003 requires each licensing authority to prepare and publish a Statement of Licensing Policy, which it must review at least every five years.

Worcester City Council, in line with the legal requirement, has now reviewed and updated its current Statement of Licensing Policy for the purpose of consultation.

Worcester City Council is also reviewing its current policy on the licensing of sex establishments, which has been in place since 2014.

Whilst only very minor changes have been made to this policy, the Council would like to offer the opportunity to everyone to provide comment on the content of the entire draft policy document, which includes information about how applications for sex shops, sex cinemas and sexual entertainment venues are made and processed and the grounds on which the council can refuse applications.

Both consultations will be open for responses until February 12, 2024, and all responses received will be given consideration by the Council before a revised policy is approved and implemented.

You can have your say on either or both of the consultations here.
