Worcester Show’s music line-up revealed

Preparations are well underway for this year's Worcester Show which will include a whole host of musical entertainment.

The Show takes place at Pitchcroft on Sunday August 13 between 10am and 5pm will include a packed line-up of live music, market stalls, fun fair rides, a dog show, sports demos, free activities and plenty of food and drink.

Heading up the musical entertainment will be Worcestershire's award-winning 'The Secret Cabaret' with their fresh take on songs from the 1950s to the present day. Band member Daz said: "We're looking forward to playing a family friendly gig at the heart of Worcester where everyone is welcome."

Got 2 Sing, a group of community adult choirs from across the Midlands will also be performing.

Choir leader Cathy said: "We are really looking forward to performing at this year's show. We love sharing in the great atmosphere of this family friendly event. It's always a fun day with so much going on. We particularly enjoy sharing our songs with the local community, family and friends. Even if the weather isn't on our side, we always do our best to bring the sunshine!"'

Other acts will include Worcester Rock School and Lollipop Youth Theatre, a theatre group for young people aged between five and nineteen.

There will also be performances by folklore group, The Bulgarian Dancers, Elgar School of Music's Raglejazz and Malvern's Sheddy Maria.

This year's show will have a 1980s theme, with stallholders and visitors invited to join in the fun and don '80s fashion for the event.

Worcester Mela will bring an extravaganza of Asian arts and entertainment to the event and there will also be a Community Marquee – where local people will share their skills, talents and interests.

There's still time to enter in the competition classes – there are over 140 to choose from, ranging from arts and crafts to flowers, vegetables and cookery. Classes are free to enter and an exhibitor may enter up to two entries in most classes. Find out more.

This year's show remains free of charge, but visitors will be asked to make a donation towards running costs.
