Worcester is looking blooming marvellous just in time for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations as the streets are bedecked with hanging baskets for the summer.
Thousands of flowers including geraniums, verbena, petunias and fuchsias have been planted in 160 hanging baskets which are dotted around the city, bringing a cheerful splash of colour to central areas.
The hanging baskets have been put up in several roads including High Street, Broad Street, Cathedral Square and Cornmarket, as well as along Worcester's Riverside.
Councillor Andy Stafford, who chairs the City Council's Environment Committee said: "This is the second year that we have put out hanging baskets. It's great to see Worcester's streets awash with colour again – and just in time for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
"These floral decorations are a cheering sight, as are the many wildflower verges that we have now created – they really brighten the city up, as well as boosting biodiversity. Worcester has never looked prettier!"
