More couples than ever say ‘I do’ at Worcester’s Guildhall

Published: 10 October 2019

Worcester's historic Guildhall is increasing in popularity as a place to tie the knot, with twelve weddings already booked at the popular venue for 2020.

The City Council has a licence to conduct wedding ceremonies, civil partnership ceremonies and naming ceremonies at the Guildhall (High Street Worcester, WR1 2EY).

With its impressive décor dating back to 1721, it is a perfect setting for both wedding ceremonies and receptions. There are six rooms available for hire - including the opulent Assembly Room, Court Room and Council Chamber.

Couples will have the opportunity to view the venue and have questions answered by friendly and experienced staff at the Guildhall's Wedding Fayre on Sunday 20 October, from 11.00am to 2.30pm.

Entry is free and guests will be served with a complimentary drink from the Guildhall's new bar on arrival. Free Goodie Bags will be given to the first 200 people attending the event.

"The Guildhall can cater for small, intimate weddings through to functions for up to 200 guests," explains Guildhall event organiser Aimee Allen.

"As many couples who have already tied the knot there will testify, the Guildhall looks fabulous and contains some of the most beautiful rooms in the city."
