The Mayor of Worcester, Cllr Allah Ditta, is hosting a special Bank Holiday celebration to mark the end of the Muslim festival Eid al-Adha – and everyone is invited.
The free event takes place on Sunday 25 August from 2.00pm – 4.00pm at Unity House, Stanley Road, Worcester WR5 1BE. There will be a buffet and a bouncy castle for children.
"The event will be a fun festive occasion, which aims to bring the whole community together," says the Mayor.
"You are guaranteed a very warm welcome. So if you've never been to an Eid celebration before, then make this your first!"
Eid al-Adha, which is also called the "Festival of the Sacrifice", is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year. It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command.
