The Deputy Mayor of Worcester, Cllr Adrian Gregson, was joined by military personnel on Tuesday 22 June to observe the raising of the Armed Forces Day Flag over the Guildhall.
"We are raising the flag today in advance of Armed Forces day on Saturday to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community," said Councillor Adrian Gregson, Deputy Mayor of Worcester.
"By holding this ceremony we recognise not just those serving in the Armed Forces around the world but also Veterans, Reservists and Cadet Forces and their families - and also the employers who support their commitments."
The Deputy Mayor was joined by David Waldron, Chairman of the Worcestershire Royal British Legion and Jean Waldron, Chairman of Royal British Legion Worcester; Major General Mark Armstrong, the County's Deputy Lieutenant and David Blake, MD for Worcester City Council.
Personnel present, amongst others, represented the214 (Worcestershire) Battery Royal Artillery; the Mercian Regiment; Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Association and the Hereford and Worcester Army Cadet Force.
The 214 Battery brought a L118 Light Gun and Pinz, which was on display in the Courtyard.
