Financial support to help businesses re-open

New grants of up to £18,000 are available for businesses in Worcester to help with the costs of re-opening.

Last month the Chancellor announced further grant funding for councils to support businesses affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

"Government has announced new financial support through its ReStart Grant, to help businesses which were forced to close to meet the costs incurred in re-opening," says Shane Flynn, Worcester City Council's Director of Resources.

"To qualify, businesses must operate from rateable premises.Full details are available on our website at www.worcester.gov.uk/business .All payments to eligible businesses will be processed as quickly as possible."

The ReStart Grant scheme is open for applications between now and 30 June.

One-off grants of up to £6,000 are available for non-essential retail premises with a rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000.

The Restart Grant will also support hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym business premises with one-off grants of up to £18,000.To qualify, the premises must have a rateable value of between £15,000 and £51,000.

Terms and conditions apply.Businesses in Worcester which don't pay business rates may be eligible for a Discretionary Restart Grant – details of which will be available in due course.
