Coronavirus: Council cancels meetings

Published: 17 March 2020

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic Worcester City Council has cancelled several upcoming meetings. The decision has been agreed by the Leaders of all of the Council's political groups.

All meetings up to and including March 24 have been cancelled.

This includes the Policy & Resources Committee (March 17), Audit & Governance Committee (March 18); Planning Committee (March 19) and the full Council meeting (March 24).

Meetings after March 24 are being kept under review.

The decision has been taken in order to minimise the risk the virus poses to councillors, council staff and the public, and also to allow the Council to focus on the delivery of critical services including recycling and waste collection, and street cleansing.

The Council is exploring methods of holding meetings virtually to ensure that time-sensitive decisions can still be taken.
