Have your say on housing strategy

Published: 07 February 2023

Worcester residents are being asked to give their views on a new housing strategy that sets out how the needs of city residents will be met over a 20-year period in Worcester and the wider county.

The draft Worcestershire Housing Strategy sets out proposed policies for meeting the future housing needs of people who live in the city and county and also addressing health inequalities and the challenges of climate change in the period up to 2040.

City residents are being invited to give their views on the strategy in a public consultation.

Their responses will feed into an action plan that will be drawn up, setting out the steps that will be taken in Worcester to meet the aims of the strategy.

Councillor Jabba Riaz, Chair of Worcester City Council's Communities Committee, said: "The policies in the Worcestershire Housing Strategy will be at the very centre of our efforts to meet the housing needs of our city's growing population, and I would encourage everyone to have their say on this draft strategy at www.worcester.gov.uk/voiceit."

The deadline for taking part in the consultation is 28 March.

Anyone who is not be able to complete the questionnaire online can collect a printed version from the Trinity Street Housing Advice Centre, Worcester, WR1 2PW or call 01905 722233 to ask for a copy to be posted to them.
