A number of partner organisations from across South Worcestershire have today formally launched a new campaign to encourage everyone in the county to play their part in ending male violence against women and girls.
The West Mercia Wide partnership event was hosted at Sixways on Thursday 23rd June, listening of the voices of victims and survivors of serious sexual assault and abuse conference.
Supported by the PCC, the stakeholders worked in partnership to host the event which focused on the safety of women and girls in the area.
Representatives from the South Worcestershire Safer Streets project partners attended the event to showcase their work within the region.
The project is an initiative that has been tasked with the redesign of public places to be more welcoming with a view to improving perception of the areas and improving safety for women and girls.
The South Worcestershire Safer Streets project highlighted the team's efforts and outcomes in local canals, parks and underpasses, lighting and CCTV as well as education to the Night Time Economy (NTE), cadets and schools plus the University of Worcester.
PCC John Campion said: "The landscape for sexual assault and abuse services is wide and complex. It spans a number of different pathways, with various agencies responsible for the provision of support services for victims and survivors.
"By listing to the voice of survivors and working in effective partnerships we can make crucial changes to ensure people not only have their voice heard, but ensure changes are made."
