Nominations are open for the Mayor of Worcester’s Big Jubilee Lunch

Published: 21 April 2022

The Mayor of Worcester will be holding a special Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday 5 June as part of the city's celebrations of Her Majesty The Queen becoming the first monarch in history to reign for 70 years.

The event at the Guildhall will see the city's first citizen joined by local residents who have contributed to the wellbeing of the city over the last two very difficult and challenging years.

Nominations are now open for members of community groups and organisations, or individuals who have gone above and beyond the norm to support and enhance the lives of others in Worcester.

Nominations can be made at here

The two-course lunch is being organised both to thank the attendees for their invaluable efforts in supporting Worcester's communities and as a celebration of The Queen's remarkable reign.

It will form part of a major programme of celebrations of the Platinum Jubilee that will also include street parties across the city, the lighting of a beacon in Fort Royal Park, and museum and art exhibitions.

You must be over 18 to make a nomination and you need to explain in no more than 200 words why your nominee should attend the Big Jubilee Lunch.

Nominations need to be submitted no later than midday on April 29.

Attendees will be chosen at random from the nominations received. Any attendees under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
